Interesting times we live in. Now we get even a preview of a preview. This seems to be a preview for the upcoming TV Spot for "The Last Jedi". We see some new scenes with Rey. At first she's training with her staff. But then she's grabbing the light sabre. We also get a better look at the First Order's Dreadnaught.

Here's the new tv spot for "The Last Jedi". The title suggests it would focus on Poe Dameron. Indeed there's couple of new scenes with him and he's got a nice new line.

Here is another trailer for the upcoming "Star Wars - The Last Jedi". And for the first time I really got excited while watching it, which to be honest wasn't the case before with all those other trailers which have been released so far. But this one makes me really looking forward to the movie. Because it shows Luke training Rey and the struggles they have.

As I've already assumed before Luke is hesistant with training Rey. He fears to fail again as he did with Ben Solo aka Kylo Ren. While Rey might be a rough diamond at first she assures him that she won't fail him as Kylo did before. In one of the interviews he recently gave Mark Hamill revealed that Luke won't be the good teacher as Obi Wan was. Am sure we'll see quite some tensions between Luke and Rey. Which will be in direct contrast to what we used to see between Luke, Obi Wan and Yoda.

First Look At The First Order Fleet

More and more trailers are being released now since we come closer to the date where "The Last Jedi" will hit cinemas. In one of the latest trailers called "Heroes" (watch the trailer below) we can get a glimpse of the First Order Fleet which is possibly attacking the Resistance Base on D'Quar. It's just a very short sequence and you could miss it if you blink but you can clearly see the First Order fleet consisting of the "Dreadnaught", a kind of new Super Star Destroyer, and at least three classic Star Destroyers which are being attacked by X-Wings and those new Restistance Bombers, which look like a mixture of a Nebulon B-frigate and a World War 2-bomber..

Although the Dreadnaught seems to be a new kind of Super Star Destroyer it doesn't seem to be as big as Vader's "Executor". When you compare the size of the normal Star Destroyers to the size of those flagships, the Dreadnaught seems to be about five times bigger than a Star Destroyer. While the "Executor" is much bigger by far (compare both images above and below).

We could already see ATATs and ATSTs in the trailers. And now we also get confirmation for that the First Order is still using those good old Star Destroyers, which still look cool and menacing.

Star Wars - The Last Jedi - Who is flying the Falcon?

Since a couple of weeks several trailers for "The Last Jedi" have been released which for the most part always show the same scenes; which are sometimes recut to either show us a bit more of a certain scene, even if it's just a closer look at something ( like Kylo Ren's face f.e.). But some of the recently released smaller trailers even include new scenes which haven't been seen before. Like with the new trailer, called "Awake" ( watch the trailer below) where we see new scenes which show the Millenium Falcon. Especially one small scene was revealing to me. Which shows Luke standing in the cockpit of the Falcon seemingly switching it on. And while doing that he's looking around in amazement like he's just having a big flashback.

The Millenium Falcon has been featured in all the trailers. But so far we haven't seen who is actually flying it. There is this short sequence where we can see Chewie sitting in the cockpit roaring, while a new companion is sitting right next to him. A tiny Porg. A birdlike resident creature of Ahch-To, Luke's hideout. But Chewbacca is as usual sitting in his co-pilot chair. The one who is actually flying the Falcon has not been revealed yet. Most people automatically assumed that it must be Rey who is flying it. Because after Han's death she seemed to have taken over the pilot's seat. But now with the new trailer there seems to be another option.

As already mentioned in a previous article storyleaks have suggested that Ahch-To will get attacked by the First Order. There is also a scene in the very first trailer where we see Rey running as if she's going to attack someone with her light sabre. Is she about to fight First Order-troops? If that'd be the case then Kylo Ren somehow found out about Luke's whereabouts. This would mean that he got the missing part of the map which shows Skywalker's location. As we all know by now BB-8 has that map. So somehow it got into the hands of the First Order. We may see how that happens in "The Last Jedi". There is also the scene which shows Rey being in Snoke's throne room, possibly being tortured by him. That would mean that she gets captured.

Will Rey get captured by the First Order?

Ok, let's assume that this all will take place. Then seeing Luke entering the Falcon's cockpit would only mean one thing. He will fly it together with Chewie as his co-pilot.

Will Luke fly the Millenium Falcon?

In any case. All scenes which featured the Millenium Falcon in the new trailers suggest that it's being piloted by a very skilled person whose pilot skills could be akin to that of a Han Solo.All in all we only see the Falcon flying around on Crait. So far there haven't been any scenes which show Rey being rescued. Unless Finn, Rose and DJ are about to do that while going undercover dressed in First Order uniforms. So this would mean that Luke will join the Resistance and help them fending off the attack of Kylo Ren's troops on the Resistance Base on Crait.

Kylo Ren reacts to "The Last Jedi"-Trailer

The guys from Auralnauts did it again and released another funny video in which they let Kylo Ren react to another Star Wars-trailer. In the past they already let him react to the trailers for "Rogue One" which was brilliantly done. It seems like Kylo is a Star Wars-fanboy by himself. And so he also needed to react to the new trailer for "The Last Jedi".

Will Kylo Ren save Rey?

The trailer for "The Last Jedi" has been released last week and apart from it looking awesome and making appetite for more, it also leaves a lot to speculate about.There are a lot of scenes which seem to suggest that the movie might take this or that turn but it's really hard to tell because the trailer might be misleading by the way the scenes have been put together.

For example there is this scene at the end of the trailer which kinda makes you go "Woah!". Because you can hear Rey saying "I need someone to show me my place in all this". Then it cuts to Kylo Ren who seems to offer her his hand. Suggesting that he might be that someone who is willing to help her showing the way. Although it seems like both could be in the same scene, because of the background and the same dark lighting, it might be that both scenes with Rey and Kylo could belong to totally unrelated scenes althogether and that Kylo is reaching out to someone else.

But let's stick to the theory that Kylo might indeed offer Rey his help. Before said scene we can hear Snoke saying "Fulfill your destiny" (It's not clear if the audio really does belong to this scene or to another one). And it seems like he's either torturing or mind-scanning Rey (who doesn't seem to enjoy it very much). So at some point in the movie Rey is getting captured by the First Order or by Kylo himself and brought to Snoke who might try to turn her to the dark side as he did with Ren.

It's being rumored that Luke's hideout on Ahch-To will be attacked by Kylo and the first order. Maybe that's where she's getting captured. Or she's simply out for revenge and trying to confront Snoke by herself for some reason. Like it's been in "The Empire Strikes Back" where Luke leaves Dagobah, also basically untrained, to face Vader.

Snoke's headquarter seems to be on a giant star destroyer. So Rey would need help from someone who'd be on the ship in order to be able to escape. Maybe it's indeed Kylo/Ben Solo who will help her because he realized that Snoke is about to drop him for Rey. So he's changing his mind, frees Rey and both escape somehow.

It looks like Luke is rather hesitant if not even unwilling to train Rey because he fears he can't tame her "raw strength" as it's been with Ben Solo. And he fears to fail again as Obi Wan did with Anakin. So what are you left to do if you need to know about the ways of the Force and the one master you were seeking out is letting you down? You are looking for another master or at least for somebody who knows more about the Force than you do. This would then possibly be where Snoke and Kylo could come into play. In "The Force Awakens" the Supreme Leader already told Ren to bring Rey to him. Maybe he already sensed that she could become a very powerful Jedi. Maybe she's even more promising than Kylo Ren himself. And that might be when Kylo realizes that he'll get dropped by Snoke and decides to take Rey with him instead and teach her the ways of the Force by himself.

In a more recent interview Mark Hamill stated that in "The Last Jedi" we'd get to see a little more of Luke. His role in "The Force Awakens" wasn't much more than a cameo to say the least. Does this suggest then that he won't have many scenes in the movie? Will he just test Rey to see how much she's already able to use the Force and then decides that he doesn't want to train her? Does this also mean that he won't leave his planet to support the Resistance in their fight against the First Order? Some behind the scenes footage which shows him together with Carrie Fisher like they'd be together in a scene could suggest otherwise. But you never know.

In the upcoming movie the whole subject of the Jedi seems to take another turn. Like they want to leave the path of the good and bad Force users. That they want to create some new venue. There's the concept of a so called "Gray Jedi" who neither aligns with the dark nor with the light side of the Force (like the older Ahsoka Tano?). Maybe Rey and/or Kylo will go down that path after both have been let down by their masters? A lot of questions which need to be answered. And am looking forward to see if the movie will explain anything or if it will even leave us with more questions.

A more creepy version of Kylo Ren

I always felt that Kylo was less manazing than all the other dark side users before him (except Count Dooku). So I thought adding Vader's breathing sound might make him appear much cooler and maybe at least a little bit creepy.

Chewbacca IS Star Wars!

Back then shortly before "The Force Awakens" has been released I went to a local store. Right at the entrance were two lifesize cardboard figures. One was of a First Order Stormtrooper and the other one was Chewbacca. I have to admit the Stormtrooper looked cool but didn't really make me exited about the new movie. I still prefer the old Stormtroopers from the original trilogie which look much more fierce in my opinion. But then I looked at Chewie and it triggered this familiar feeling which was asleep since all those decades. It was the original Star Wars-feeling. It was the same old feeling which makes you exited when you see the original characters or a Tie Tighter or an X-Wing. You just start to feel like a kid again. It was that moment where it became clear to me how special Chewbacca is.

Recently I read an article on screenrant.com where they were making predictions about what might happen in "The Last Jedi". Among those predictions was that Chewie would find his end during an attack. To me this was just unacceptable. We just had to watch Han Solo die a totally useless death in "The Force Awakens". Then we also lost Carrie Fisher which is just very sad. And to me that's just more than enough.


I personally (and possibly many other people too) would have loved to see all the original characters (Luke, Leia, Han, Chewie, R2, C3PO) being together again. That might have been what a lot of people would have expected as it's been announced that they all have been casted for Star Wars 7. Sadly we just had a little bit of Han, barely anything of Leia and almost nothing of Luke.

The above mentioned article claimed that now that Han would be gone that it wouldn't make any sense if Chewbacca would have his own adventures. And that there would be no reason for Chewie to stay in the franchse and that he should find his death during Star Wars 8. With which I totally disagree.

Some might see him only making sense when he's together with Han, who was his best friend. But I see him as a character who can be on his own and even bond with others. He already has a bond with Leia and Luke. He also already became friends with Rey. That friendship might develop even more in the next two episodes of Star Wars. Rey seems to be the new captain of the Falcon now and I don't see any reason why its co-pilot couldn't stay. I kinda like that idea. Her being the Jedi in training and he being the big hairy thing who is protecting her, like he did in that scene in Maz Kanata's castle, where they encounter Unkar Plutt.

As it seems Rey is now the new Captin of the Falcon and Chewie her co-pilot.

Apart from all this, as mentioned above, Chewbacca gives you that classic Star Wars-feeling, just like all the original characters do. His appearance, the way he acts and his roar triggers feelings all the new characters just can't give you (yet). Chewie is essential! Chewie IS Star Wars! Just as Darth Vader or Luke Skywalker or C3PO are. Losing Chewbacca would mean another major blow to the franchise. It's necessary that he's allowed to stay in or that certain Star Wars-feeling would also be gone to some extent. And I fear it would make the new trilogy less interesting to many.

And while we're on it, please, Disney, give Luke, Leia, R2D2 and C3PO bigger roles this time. I am sure this would be a big improvement to the movie.

"Star Wars - The Last Jedi" gets an 80s VHS-trailer

To those who grew up in the 80s and to nostalgeeks this may be a treat. Somebody created an 80s-style trailer like it could have been found on VHS-cassettes back then.

Trailers of today may look great and fantastic but nothing adds more to the mystery of a movie and makes you hungry for more than a 80s-style trailer. At least it has that effect on me.

Is Snoke from the "Unknown Regions"?

Possible Spoilers ahead!

Rumors have emerged about the possible origins of the mysterious Snoke. It's being claimed that in "The Last Jedi" we'll get to know more about where Snoke came from.

Snoke communicates via hologram with Kylo Ren and General Hux.

 Supposedly he's from the so called "Unknown Regions" which seem to be beyond the so called "Outer Rim" of the more or less well known Star Wars-Galaxy. So it's a mysterious region of space about which most people barely know anything about other than myths and rumors perhaps. I guess that a lot of people who only saw the movies and never read any of the books or comics don't even know much about the Outer Rim-regions nor about the Inner Core of the Star Wars-galaxy at all other than maybe Tatooine, Alderaan or Coruscant.

I have to admit that I do belong to those people. So adding another mysterious area of space which is outside of an already vast galaxy which Star Wars-movies barely even explored so far doesn't make much sense to me. But I assume it has to be that way in order to create a more mystical aura around Snoke, who seems to have come from out of nowhere.

Spoiler! Who is Benicio Del Toro playing in Star Wars 8?

The following article contains potential spoilers! Don't read any further if you don't want to have your Star Wars 8 experience being spoiled!

There already have been many speculations about the character Benicio Del Toro might be playing. Some sources claimed that he would be with the First Order and some others said that he would be with the resistance. Then there were some who believed to know that he would play a kind of scoundrel. And if the latest rumors are true then the latter could very well be true.

It is being alleged that Del Toro is playing a guy named Gannis Ducain. It is said that it was him who took the Falcon away from Solo, possibly because our favorite smuggler owed him some money.  While he had it in his possession he upgraded the Falcon's turret system. As it seems later on it got stolen by somebody. Maybe that's how it got into Unkar Plutt's hands.

Since it became public that Benicio Del Toro will be in "The Last Jedi" there were so many speculations about who he might be playing that it's impossible to tell if there's any kind of substance to what I just wrote above. I personally feel that he's a great actor and no matter if he'll be playing a villain or some kind of smuggler I'm sure he'll perform very well.
