Star Wars Rebels won't end with the Battle of Scarif!

Those who have seen "Star Wars Rogue One" might have noticed a familiar looking ship during the battle of Scarif. Which was the "Ghost", the ship being used by our heroes of "Star Wars Rebels". After watching that movie people have speculated about what might have happened to the Ghost and its crew. If they survived that battle or not. Now Dave Filoni shared some insights.

Filoni stated about the events taking place above Scarif:

“I think it’s possible to tell the Rebels side of it, I just don’t know that I would do it in Star Wars Rebels. I think that there’s probably a fantastic story there about what exactly the Ghost is doing and who exactly is on board the Ghost, which I think is a big question. So I think there is a story there - but would we see that in Star Wars Rebels? I wouldn’t think so.”

Is the Ghost (red circle) still being piloted by Hera during the battle of Scarif?

  He further elaborated:

“This story, Star Wars Rebels, doesn’t work in service of ending in somebody else’s film or storyline. That’s Jyn’s story. This is Ezra’s story. I just don’t think there’s something that’s that important that could have been going on there. I think it’s important to keep them separate. It’s nice that they acknowledge each other. It’s nice that Saw is in Rebels and then he’s also in Rogue One. It’s nice that we have these bridges. Mon Mothma is also a bridge. Yavin itself becomes a bridge. That creates the continuity but I think getting too specific, because we would be locked in in that battle.”

I personally would love to see the Crew of the Ghost survive and possibly reappear in another Star Wars-show, just as Ahsoka and others did. Because as we all know the Rebellion didn't end with the Battle of Scarif, nor with the destruction of Alderaan. So there still should be a lot of stories to tell which lead up to the events of "Return of the Jedi" and maybe even a little further.
